Piura - Decorative vase
These decorative vases are handcrafted in Chulucanas, a small town located in the northwest of Peru, in the Piura Valley.
This town is well known for its pottery experts, heirs of the Vicus culture. The Chulucanas pottery has become one of the most recognized decorative items in the world, due to the beauty of its forms and its fine finishes. It combines ancestral techniques with contemporary ones, resulting in a modern and functional product. These vases are handcrafted and handpainted. The artisans use mango leaves in order to smoke the pieces and create a rich black finish.
These vases are signed by their artisan.
